ABOUT

  • I have always enjoyed learning, but working with people has always been my true passion. Throughout elementary, middle, and high school, teachers often told me I was a good student, though I talked too much. Not surprisingly, I was naturally drawn to social and helping professions, like cosmetology and teaching. Ultimately, I found my calling in social work. While I knew I wanted to be a therapist, I appreciated that the social work curriculum also emphasized the impact of surrounding systems—such as family, work, and school—on an individual. I completed my prerequisites at Red Rocks Community College before transferring to Metropolitan State University of Denver, where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2016 and my Master of Social Work in 2018.

  • I am an LCSW and EMDR-trained therapist. Early in my career, I worked with children and families in various settings, including private practice, supervised parenting time, and an inpatient hospital. My first experience working with adults was during my internship at a community mental health center's wellness program, where I primarily facilitated individual therapy and psychoeducational groups. These groups focused on teaching wellness skills, such as managing difficult emotions like stress, anxiety, and burnout.

Afterward, I returned to working with children and families. I worked both in an adolescent residential program and then in a middle and elementary school to make therapy services more accessible to children and their families. Just before launching my own practice, I worked at a group practice, where I primarily provided individual therapy to older adolescents and adults.

In 2021, after significant personal and professional growth, I opened my own practice in Boulder, with a particular focus on college students facing life transitions and trauma.

Starting my own family has sparked a deeper interest in expanding my practice to address women’s issues surrounding pregnancy and postpartum. I am particularly focused on supporting women facing fear and anxiety around childbirth, processing traumatic birth experiences, and helping those who struggle with breastfeeding to strengthen their bond with their child.

  • Whether working with adults or children, I am often described as personable, positive, and supportive—almost like a cheerleader (though I was never one!). I tailor my approach to each client individually, focusing on building a trusting relationship within the first few sessions. This relationship is one of the greatest predictors of success in therapy, which is why I prioritize it.

I approach each client's concerns through both a trauma and systems lens, and I believe in a collaborative approach to treatment planning. My clients are the experts on their own needs, and I work with them to identify the best course of action. If I’m unable to provide the specific services you’re seeking, I’ll guide you toward finding the care that best fits your needs. Your well-being is my top priority.

In my practice, I most commonly use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and a client-centered, strengths-based approach.

  • I have lived in Colorado my entire life and love it so much that I never want to leave. I run my private practice and find great fulfillment in working with my clients. On my days off, you can find me camping, hiking, or gardening, as I deeply value spending time in nature. In recent years, I’ve taken up both downhill and cross-country skiing to stay connected with nature, even during the winter months.

In December 2023, my husband and I bought a 1972 VW camper bus, and we've spent several months restoring it. Now, we enjoy driving and camping in it for fun. Outside of nature, I’m passionate about live music. I listen to a variety of genres, and music has a deeply grounding effect on me.

I share my life with my husband, our one-year-old son (whom I affectionately call Baby H), two cats named Bob and Houdini, and our dog, Beau. I truly value quality time with my loved ones and feel incredibly grateful to be a mom!
